Who we are
This website, getwise.uk, is run by GET WISE LTD ("Get Wise", "we", "us"), a company registered in England & Wales (company number 11843152). We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy and we handle it in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
The short version
- We collect only what we need to run this website and reply to enquiries.
- We do not use advertising, remarketing or tracking pixels on this website.
- We never sell your personal data.
- You can ask us to see, correct or delete any information we hold about you at any time.
Information we collect
Information you give us
If you contact us through our contact form, by email or on social media, we collect the details you choose to share, such as your name, email address, company and the content of your message. If you become a client, we also keep the contact and billing details needed to work with you.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the site we use Google Analytics to understand how it is used, for example which pages are visited, how long visits last, the type of device and browser used, the website that referred you and your approximate location (country or city). This information is aggregated and is not used to identify you.
Like most websites, our hosting provider also processes technical information such as your IP address and browser details in order to deliver pages to you and protect the site from abuse.
How we use your information
- To respond to your enquiry and communicate with you (our legitimate interest in replying to you, or steps taken at your request before entering into a contract).
- To provide our services if you become a client (performance of a contract).
- To understand how the website is used and improve it (our legitimate interests).
- To keep the website secure and meet our legal and accounting obligations (legal obligation and legitimate interests).
We will not send you marketing emails unless you have asked us to, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
Cookies
We use a small number of analytics cookies set by Google Analytics (named _ga and_ga_*) to distinguish visitors and measure site usage. We do not use advertising or remarketing cookies, and we do not share data from this site with advertising networks.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics on all websites using Google's opt-out browser add-on. The site will still work normally if you do.
Who we share it with
We share personal data only with trusted service providers who help us run this website and our business, and only as far as they need it to provide their service. These include:
- Google, for our contact form (Google Forms), email and website analytics (Google Analytics)
- Cloudflare, which hosts and secures this website
- Adobe, which serves the fonts used on this website
- Our accountants and professional advisers, where needed
We may also disclose information where required by law. We never sell, rent or trade your personal data.
International transfers
Some of our service providers are based, or store data, outside the UK. Where that happens we rely on safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement and Addendum, to make sure your data stays protected.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up. Client records are kept for as long as we work together and then for up to six years to meet tax and accounting requirements. Google Analytics data is kept for a maximum of 14 months. After that, data is deleted or anonymised.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- ask us to correct anything that is inaccurate or incomplete
- ask us to delete your personal data
- object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use your data
- ask us to transfer your data to you or another organisation
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent
All information we hold about you can be deleted on request. Just get in touch and we will confirm once it is done. We aim to respond to all requests within one month, and there is no charge.
Keeping your data safe
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, and limit access to it to people who need it. This website is served over a secure HTTPS connection.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top.
